Marijuana Policy

The Marijuana Policy Project will be working with other groups in Massachusetts to explore the possibility of placing a "decriminalization" initiative on the November 2008 ballot. To kick everything off, MPP executive director Rob Kampia will be meeting with supportive groups and individuals at a fundraising party in Boston on Thursday, February 22.

You are invited to a Voter Power fundraising dinner on Saturday, October 28, at 8 p.m. at the Saigon Kitchen at 3829 SE Division Street in Portland, Oregon. The dinner will begin after our open house. Elvy Musikka, one of the few remaining patients receiving medical marijuana from the United States government will be our guest of honor.

The village of Nimbin is beginning to get ready for its fifteenth annual MardiGrass, the cannabis law reform rally and gathering which swallows the village every first weekend in May. “Until we are no longer criminals”, says Michael Balderstone, spokesperson for the MOB (MardiGrass Organising Body!) ”That’s the promise we made to ourselves and it looks like we might be doing it for a few years yet, though if Rudd replaces Howard at least the Federal reefer madness campaign might diminish.”

Got the best marijuana music in the USA? The AMMA will let you know at the 2007 AMMA concert. Open to all American music with a marijuana theme!! Winners receive a trophy plus a cash prize for song of the year! Closing date for entries is June 1.

Please join us for our area's contribution to the Global Marijuana March. We will protesting/celebrating/gathering at Stevens Point. The event begins at the K-Mart parking lot and proceeds to the band shell in Pfiffner Park for acoustic music and speakers.
