He's not the only one to fight....
2 of my kids have just been done dirty by the cops. Charged with mj that did not exist. For real - cause they have nothing to hide from me. This was after they illegally entered the home without warrant or cause WHATSOVER. Anyhow, I work for myself and I am devoting all of my time, energy and money to frying the bastards that were so sloppy in thier rights violations and lies on arrest warrants. Ha, ha!! They thought my kids were dumb, poor and detached from family! Wrong! Lawyer is paid, and I am personally doing the legal research to make sure the lawyer does his job.
Thing that makes me sick is if the cops did their job correctly, got a warrant and actually found some drugs, nobody would get any pity from me. But cops don't and that's why the REAL crooks get off.
You only have rights if you assert them and the only way to discourage this behavior by cops is to not give in! Make them prove their case, they probably don't have one.
insanity
just more drug war insanity .abuse of power is just the norm today
I'm Glad
I'm glad he didn't roll over. So many people are afraid to speak up and stand up for their rights out of fear of losing thousands of dollars, missing work, etc. Kudos to Eric, I hope he gets all his money back.

not surprised
this is how many local "justice" systems operate. it's a robbery. they have zero intention of doing the right thing. they just want you to pay their salaries and go home. in the end, it always costs more to defend yourself than it is to accept the charge. they rely on that. this is why there are so many poor black people in prison now. it's sad that it all comes down to how much money you can muster up for a defense. it cost me about $2500 and 6 months of my time to fight a bogus case in which i was charged with inciting a riot and disorderly conduct. funny thing, i was in my bedroom at the time, in my underwear, witnessing police brutality. they told my father they were going to let me out in a few hours. when he see i didn't come home yet, he called the lawyer for me. i still don't get how i incited a riot or conducted myself in a disorderly manner just by being a witness. 48th precinct of the NYPD works in mysterious ways. if i accepted the charge, i would have gotten a record. i fought it all the way to dismissal. they realized i wasn't some thug in the streets. i'm college educated and run my own business. it'd be near impossible to railroad me, especially on such small charges. but i would have loved for them to try it.
GOOD FOR HIM!
IF YOU DO THE CRIME THEN DO THE TIME. BUT LIKE THIS MAN, HE DIDNT DO ANY CRIME.AND HE STUCK TO HIS RIGHTS. TAKING THAT CHANCE THAT IF HE WOULD HAVE BEEN FOUND GUILTY, HAD IT GONE THAT FAR, HE COULD HAVE WENT TO JAIL. MY BOYFRIEND WAS CHARGED ON A CONSPIREY CHARGE, BY SO CALLED CO-CONSPIRERS, MIND YOU THESE OTHERS HAVE BEEN IN PRISION FOR THESE VERY CHARGES, BUT MY BOYFRIEND, HAS NEVER BEEN IN ANY TROUBLE FOR DRUGS! NEVER, NOW HE'S FACING 10+YEARS!!
HE IS QUILTY OF BEING FRIENDS WITH THESE PEOPLE. THERES NO EVIDENCE OF HIM POSSION DRUGS, SELLING DRUGS, OR INTENT TO SELL DRUGS, OTHER THEN THESE OTHER PEOPLE THAT ARE LOOKING AT 20+YEARS TO LIFE IN PRISION, NOW THERE SENTENCE IS BEING DROPPED LOWER TO 12+YEARS. ALL BECAUSE THEY SAY SOMEONE DID THIS OR THAT! MY BOYFRIEND INTENDS TO GO ALL THE WAY TO TRIAL TO PROVE HE IS INNOCENT. I'M SCARED FOR HIM, AFTER ALL ITS THE FEDERAL GOVERMENT, AND THEY WILL DO WHAT EVER TO PUT ONE IN JAIL. INNOCENT OR QUILTY! THERE ONE TRACK MIND. KEEP YOU FINGERS CROSSED FOR MY BOYFRIEND, THAT JUSTICE WILL BE SERVED AS JUSTICE SHOULD. WHAT EVER HAPPEN TO INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN QUILTY?? NO FAITH IN THE SYSTEM FROM ME. I'M GLAD THAT THIS MAN GOT HIS DAY AND STOOD UP!! I ONLY PRAY, FOR MY MAN TO GET THE SAME JUSTICE!!
