Prince of Pot Pleads Out

Marc Emery, the self-styled Prince of Pot has accepted a plea bargain which would see him serve five years in a Canadian prison. It's difficult to gauge how much influence the numerous petitions and letter campaigns had in the justice system offering this deal. Mr.Emery definitely made the right move here as it avoids the precedent his extradition would have caused. It still sucks that a foreign country came into our country and had one of our citizens jailed. With the recent decisions of the Harper government to allow US law enforcement to possess fire arms here and to basically do what ever they want, it's lucky he got a deal at all. Details when the paper comes out.

Petitions to Save the Prince of Pot

The petitions you refer to were clumsy, and for the most part unacceptable...a close review shows false signings in way too may cases...Funny names like "Ben Dover" " I.P. Knightly" and "Barb Wire"

Maybe not everybody graduated high school, but everybody has graduated kindergarten, and it sure shows in these documents.

The 420 society felt empowered sassing the feds with paperwork, but for the most part it was ignored. Same as all the comments to the justice minister: a few people called many, many times...and left the same message...as dictated by Jodie Emery....So much for individual thought.

Regardless, who objects and when...organized drug crime is much too serious for the Justice Minister to dismiss because some stoners want their hero released.
