Happy New Year

I was just listening to The Fox in Vancouver. They keep playing this idiot that thinks that a raise in the minimum wage will hurt his bottom line and "only help the guy that's making $8.50 hr." It reminded me that there are always two sides to an issue and it's really hard to break through to "them." What I do know is I was on the other side. So was every-one on this and every other anti-drug war site. We know where they are coming from. We've felt the rage, the fear; and we certainly had to shed a lot of ingrained prejudices. That must surely give us some advantage. The message is virtually the same. It's just the placing of the blame that gets muddled in the transition. Let's all remember that ours is the righteous side of this issue. No-one wants any more heroin addicts. We just don't agree on everything else. Putting anyone in prison for their personal frailties has got to be wrong.

Min Wages Need To Be Raised

The higher we raise them the fewer people on the bottom who can get starter jobs.

We keep them from getting OJT, cut off welfare, and then get more homeless.

A win-win as I see it for the more qualified.

If we raised the minimum to $20 an hour we could keep all those without some kind of college certificate out of jobs.

We certainly don't want the riff-raff moving up in the world.

I suppose there will always be babysitting jobs until we get babysitting unions. The only problem I see is that Republicans are doing more procreating.

Republicans

sicntired@mac.com Vancouver, B.C. Canada I guess they're not all bad. Ron Paul scares a lot of people but I've yet to hear anything from him I don't agree with.
