2010 PhillyNORML Kick Off featuring Keith Stroup

Marijuana reform has reached a tipping point in America and PhillyNORML is actively working on reform locally. The local chapter of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws is hosting a concert/fundraiser featuring an exciting line-up of local bands and guest speakers. All proceeds go directly to PhillyNORML. Our volunteers were instrumental last year in getting HB 1393, a medical marijuana bill, introduced in Harrisburg. We are also continuing negotiations with the city government to change arrest procedures so that minor marijuana possession no longer results in mandatory custodial arrest. 2010 will be the year we see tangible change in Pennsylvania, but only with your help. Join us for a fun social while making a difference here in PA! Music will include: Agent Moosehead, Psychadelphia, Flux Capacitor, The Big Dirty, and DJ Ginkgo. Speakers include: Keith Stroup, who founded NORML in 1970; Steve Bloom author of Pot Culture and www.celebstoner.com; Derek Rosenzweig of PhillyNORML and co-founder of PA4MMJ; Jahan Marcu one of the few cannabinoid researchers in the country; Ken Wolski RN who is a leader in New Jersey’s successful medical marijuana effort; and Rob Doughtery PhillyNORML’s Director. Chris Goldstein, a marijuana law reform advocate and radio broadcaster who has been involved with both PA and NJ, will emcee the event. In addition to the on stage line-up there will PhillyNORML and PA4MMJ will host information tables with literature on medical marijuana or full legalization as well as t-shirts and other merchandise. A vegan bake sale and custom blended teas from Madam Potts will offer help with the munchies. Join us to bring in a green new decade!
